National Compliment Day

by Elizabeth Norton

smiledm2409_468x349A compliment is a noun.  A compliment is a remark, or act, expressing praise or admiration.  With all of the words that we type online how much are possitive? How often is your keyboard a pathway to make someones day beter?  Sometimes, being a mom is often a job of correction and teaching.  Sometimes a blogger often has a purpose of venting or spreading news.  Sometimes a radio show is spent informing and entertaining.  How often are we encouraging.  How often are WE expressing a remark or doing an act that expresses admiration.

Today, is National Compliment Day.  It is a day to recognize the worth of words. It’s not Christmas or any other holiday. It is just a day.  A day like any other.  A day to pick up the phone and let someone know how great they are!

If you are not actively online in the blog-o-sphere, twitterverse or facebook country their is a network of admirable people that you are not aware of.  Peaple that are making strides to make the world a better place through the web and technology!

There are also the people that work in unfamed hidden jobs that offer their help to to save or brothers from a burning building or consoles your grandmother who’s purse was just stolen.  Then there are those very deserving people that deserve more then a compliment because they are serving over seas and far away fighting for our country.  There also is their wives and children that stand behind them alone while they are away.

Yesterday, over 23 web personalities made over 126 compliments to make those military wives and mom bloggers smile.  We hope these compliments served them well.  We hope it made them happy in a moment of a stressful day or those moments of missing their husband.  Maybe their husband isn’t away at the moment.  Maybe He is going or has gone.  Either way this is our message to you.

Dear Military Wife/Mom Blogger,

You are an amazing strong person.  An example to us who take for granted those that are close to us that love can reach acrost distance.  Hopefully after all of the compliments are written and read you will know that love can reach across the web too.  Love that is from strangers as a symbol of what the web can bring.  A symbol of us always being here to twitter with, blog to, and show our virtual face! We are here.  You are awesome and an that is a compliment.  :)

If you would like to celebrate National Compliment Day there is a whole world out there that needs to smile.  So……Compliment On.
