We are not going to sit here and endorse electronic invites. Yes, it would be greener. Yes, it could save you money but in the name of throwing a party and living in a virtual connected time there seems to be a huge disconnect. Here, at the party planning professor we want you to have real social connections from invitations all the way to thank you notes.
Here are 5 ways to have greener invitations.
- 1. Recycle paper and create seeded paper so you can encourage you guests to plant the paper and have wildflowers.
- 2. Use invitations on magnets that can be recalled and remembered forever and reused again and again on the refrigerator.
- 3. Write on something that can be used. For example write on crayon boxes, sippy cups or something practical. (hand deliver the invites to save on costs)
- 4. Use actual seed packets with sticky labels on them. This will encourage growing and learning. It will also encourage a love for the environment.
- 5. Use pictures! Write the invite details on the back. Everyone saves pictures anyway. Make use of the album space to also remember a special day that you had with your guests.
We believe invitations are the beginning step to getting the party started! We REALLY believe going green is important BUT we also believe in being real and starting off with the right foot to a party is the best suggestion. We hope you consider these green ideas!

I am Elizabeth, and this here is my party planning frontier. I am not from the west but wish I was so I sometimes talk with a southern-drawl. (We can all dream right?) I am actually from Cape May, NJ and love to party. You can lean more about me
