Jenga is one of my all time favorite games and I am very much looking forward to our Family Game Night Party. I have pondered over some great eats and what should be served. I am so excited to start preparing our menu for family game night. Of course, this menu is game inspired.
Appetizers:
Jenga Cheese Tower with crackers.

Everyone loves cheese and crackers for an appetizer and this party should be no different. I bought 2 pounds of block cheese from our local grocery store.
I split both blocks lengthwise, making two smaller blocks. I continued to make Jenga size blocks and build a tower out of the cheese. (This was hard for me for some reason because I had to find a pattern that looked realistic but appetizing at the same time)
I surrounded the cheese with crackers and served them on up. It was a fun piece to keep in the center of the table and by the end of the night, the kiddos and adults had finished the plate. I bet it was the best Jenga tower they had ever tasted.

Have fun playing JENGA!

Are you ready for September 23rd? Hasbro is sponsoring National Family Game Night. I am absolutely 100% behind this idea. I love to play games with my boys and way back when I was “just a sister” I use to play games all of time. I look back and remember the times so well. (except one time in Maine, on a family vacation, greed took over my Father in a monopoly game-lol). Even that memory of monopoly in Maine makes me realize how lucky I was that my parents encouraged popcorn and games instead of us all at different activities and running in different directions. Hasbro is hoping to encourage family relationships across America, hoping that families reconnect during game time. My advice, not that I am an expert, is to never let it disconnect. Keep the games (aka brain exercises) going on and keep the family playing together around the table.
2 years ago, we all returned to Maine and we took our boardgames with us. This time we played pictionary constantly. We still laugh as my mom was trying to draw “kilt” to my sisters then boyfriend and He just wasn’t getting it. (or was scared to guess it….lol)
Hasbro sent me guestures and I can not wait to try to play with my family and then duke it out online in a game of virtual scrabble between my sisters afar and I.

Stay tuned for the next couple days as I explain what is the best items to have on your menu on National Family Game Night. I encourage…..ahem I mean challenge…… you to set aside time to play with your family. It’s an excuse to talk trash on your loved ones and it be totally exceptable.
Mark your Calendar! This Sunday is National Game Night! Make it a fun family party! Stay tuned for some board game themed eats to munch on as you play. Think of how cool your friends, family, and kids will think you are if you host an awesome game night event.
I am Elizabeth, and this here is my party planning frontier. I am not from the west but wish I was so I sometimes talk with a southern-drawl. (We can all dream right?) I am actually from Cape May, NJ and love to party. You can lean more about me here!!! Y'all come back now....ya hear!!! Stay a while and enjoy the party!! :) |
